Menu- Week 1

Menu for Week 1:
*Weekly menus plan for one meal out and one night of leftovers.
  • Pizza
  • Chicken Philly Pasta
  • Slammin' Salmon with Risotto
  • Stuffed Cabbage Rolls with Mashed Potatoes
  • Chicken Marsala with Roasted Veggies

Shopping List:
*Print this off and check off the items that you already have in your pantry.  Then either take this list or create a simpler one to the grocery to shop for the week of dinners.

Basic Pantry/Kitchen Items:
  • flour
  • brown sugar
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • butter
  • olive oil
  • lemon juice
  • egg
  • potatoes (I usually keep a large bag of Red or Yellow Potatoes in the pantry)
  • onions (I usually keep a large bag of Yellow, White, or Sweet Onions in the pantry)
  • oregano
  • basil
  • garlic
  • red pepper flakes
  • parmesan cheese
  • chicken broth
  • soy sauce
Spices/Flavor Items:
  • peanut oil
  • sesame oil
  • marsala wine (I buy the cooking type, but regular Marsala wine works too)
  • sherry (I buy the cooking sherry)
  • balsamic vinegar
  • dry white wine
Dairy/Refrigerator Items:
  • shredded swiss cheese
  • shredded pizza/italian cheese blend
  • Pizza Dough (unless homemade or dry-goods)
Pasta/Rice/Bean Items:
  • long grain or white rice (I buy the parboiled rice since it cooks faster but tastes better than minute rice)
  • Rigatoni noodles (or your noodle of choice)
  • Arborino Rice (risotto)
Can/Dry Good Items:
  • condensed tomato soup
  • pizza sauce
  • pizza dough mix (unless homemade or refrigerator item)
Meat:
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1-2 lbs salmon (I used frozen fillets)
  • 1-2 lbs chicken breasts (I use frozen fillets)
Produce Items:
  • cabbage
  • 2 green peppers
  • red, yellow, OR orange pepper
  • mushrooms
  • green onions
  • ginger
  • asparagus*
  • yams*
  • zucchini*
  • baby carrots*     *Feel free to get whatever veggies you would like to roast
*Add any pizza toppings you like to the list.


Dinner:  Pizza

**You can figure this one out on your own, right??  If you want to make homemade pizza dough, go for it!
